Life as a fashion designer can be interesting. Many have asked, Where most of my inspiration come from when designing a collection? The answer is anything that inspires me personally. Recently, I’ve decided to re-launch GQC by adding two additional fashion lines. I’m excited for the addition to the brand along with our signature collection. Each line is a representation of my personality. As a designer, getting lost in the creative process can hinder other areas of the brand. I’ve learned that expressing who I am through my creativity works best for GQC.

I talk about the powerful combination of fashion and music. Mainly, how both industries go hand and hand. Last month, I had the pleasure of seeing Sheila E and the E Train performance in person. Sheila E is a phenomenal musician/performer! Might I add, very down to earth off stage. My favorite takeaway was seeing her perform “The Glamorous Life.”
Life can be glamorous as a fashion designer attending fabulous events and concerts. Fashion shows appear glamorous on the runway, but the process of putting it all together is hard work. Before putting the new collections on the runway, I’m planning a re-launch event early summer. In this business I’ve learned that timing is everything.

A few years ago, I posted this FB video from Sheila E page of her glamorous life costume wardrobe. How cool it was to she her perform the actual song in person! And…..!!! Get an autographed t-shirt! Who knows. Maybe I’ll feature it on the runway with one of my designs.
