Entertainment an event, performance, or activity designed to entertain others.

For this month’s blog, I’ve decided to write on a fun, cool fact about myself as a background actor. Many of you don’t know that I’ve worked on major film productions for nearly two decades as a BG (background actor.) When the film industry started trickling down to Atlanta in the early 2000’s, It gave me the opportunity to work on several projects. Now, that we have the whole industry here, I decided to get back into it for inspiration. Honestly, it’s been an learning experience or continued education. I’ve worked on so many projects such as Marvel where I had the privilege of standing next to a major Actress. She had her hair and make up team and I had mines. The most recent project was a dream come true to work with a A lister. I felt like an official actor after being on set for three days. At the end of production, the actor smiled and wave at me. Super cool stuff!

Also, I’ve had the opportunity to travel for background work. One experience was travel back and forth to the music city for the hit T.V. show “Nashville.” On set, I mixed and mingled with so many major musicians and back ground talent. Plus, there were industry parties that I attended to help establish my presence in the entertainment industry in Nashville. It helped when I came back to Atlanta because my agent had expanded and all I had to say, “Remember me.” Lol!

Period Movies A historical drama (also period drama, period piece or just period)
Projects such as these have become my specialty. I’ve done various projects ranging from time periods of Civil War to Civil Rights. In many cases, I’m hand picked by the director. The most recent casting, I was hand picked by a major A lister. Truly and honor….. Just saying. I love the 1950’s pieces because I can really get into character. Most of these productions are learning and growing experiences.
This world is so unique and dreamy. It takes a day after each project for me to tune back into the real world. Definitely, a magical experience. However, it takes a lot of endurance and mental strength to work on set. It’s not for everyone.
