(Holiday Edition)
It’s the holidays! All festivities are taking place and people are merry. Five years ago, I started Georgia Queen Clothing with a holiday collection. We planned a full fashion photoshoot in my home and that was just the beginning.
Many of you may not know that I am an artist and a designer. Yes, my first love is Art and Fashion is my passion. Mind you that I have not painted in years, but I like to incorporate art with my fashion. Along with that, I am able to exercise my drawing skills by sketching designs for GQC.
A few weeks ago, My team and I did a photoshoot at the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art. We were able to incorporate our artistic skills paired with an exquisite art display by artist Denise Von Balen. With the combination of photography, make up, modeling, and design everything came together on a backdrop of art and it was like creating a masterpiece.
I will say this photoshoot meant more to me because not only did I express my artistic side, but it allowed me to connect with the art community here in Marietta. As you walk through the square located in downtown Marietta, you can see vibrant works of art by local artists. There’s several fabulous art galleries and of course we have an art museum that is very similar to the Metropolitan in NYC.
Below, I’ve displayed photos from the shoot done at the Marietta Cobb Museum of Art as well as a virtual fashion show of past and current original designs of GQC. I like to think of it as my own personal “Art Show.”
Enjoy!
