GQC Style

It’s spring and time for some shopping. Nashville is my go to for retail fashion. Why? It’s the country music scene and the stores offer unique finds that are tied to the industry. I’ll explain more of this in the video below.

FASHION & CHARITY
Let’s take it beyond the retail. The Nashville Symphony host an annual fashion show each year featuring designers from all over. This year, Oscar de la Renta is presenting a collection along with Lainey Wilson headlining. After speaking with the organizer of the event, she stated that the Nashville Symphony Organization have been hosted this charity event for over 20 years. Even though, I would love to have been able to interview backstage, instead I was granted permission to tell you all about on my platform. Feel free to click on the link below to read more information about the organization and it’s purpose for giving back.

ENTERTAINERS & FASHION
The relationship between Music and Fashion has been a thing for a while. Speaking of Oscar de la Renta, I learned that he participated in the Battle of Versailles in 1973. This was a charity fashion show that took place in France to raise money for the repairs of the palace of Versailles. Josephine Baker and Liza Minnelli were the headliners for the French and American sides. The five American designers which included Oscar de la Renta, where revolutionary in introducing a modern approach to fashion show production by using music recordings. Also, the production team tied in choreographed routines on a bare stage. The models twirled and danced which provided beautiful movement in the garments. The French stuck with tradition by using elaborate props such as a decorative rhinoceros and a fabulous stage performance by Ms. Josephine Baker.
